Stephanie Winters
CLUE Step 3 a
interview 2 people who are unlike you

Student #1- Female Sophomore Nursing Major
What made you decide that you wanted to attend Bloomsburg University?
"They have a very good nursing program. Junior and Senior year we do clinics at Geisinger Danville. This is a very good hospital that is well known throughout the area. They also seem to work together with Bloomsburg and many students get jobs there right after graduating."

Why did you chose to live away at college?
"I thought that it would be a fun and exciting experience. I think living away at school teaches someone to be more independent and helps them to adjust to living without their parents. I also wanted to meet new people. I feel like if I lived at home I would not have made as many of friends that I did here. Most of my friends stayed home and complain about how difficult it is to make new friends when you do not live at school. They tend to all hang out together instead of meeting new people."

How do you spend your free time at Bloomsburg University?
"Most of my time is spent studying. Many of my classes require a lot of work which takes up most of my time. I'm also a part of Best Buddies, Program Board, and the Student Nursing Association. I like to spend time with my friends on the weekends and use this time to relax after a long week of work."

How often do you use the library?
"Not very often, I usually only go to the library to print things off. I like studying in my dorm room better than the library."

Do you have a car on campus and if so how often do you use it?
"Yes I have my car on campus. I usually only use to go home,Best Buddies events, and Wal Mart."

Do you have a job?
No

Student #2- Male Sophomore Secondary Education Math
What made you decide that you wanted to attend Bloomsburg University?
"I really like the campus environment and the appearance of the campus. I heard it was a great college for education majors."

Why did you chose to live away at college?
"Mainly to grow as a person and meet new people."

How do you spend your free time at Bloomsburg University?
"I'm on Program Board executive committee which takes up a lot of time. I also study and hang out."

How often do you use the library?
"Not very often at all."

Do you have a car on campus and if so how often do you use it?
"Yes, I do not use it often. It's mainly to go to and from home."

Do you have a job?
"I have a job during the summer but I do not have one once school starts."

What does this data suggest to you about college life?
This data shows many interesting things about college life. I am continually finding patterns in the students who live on campus. These patterns tend to be different than the ones found in students who commute. I think that these two groups of students have very different experiences in college. There are so many differences that I never thought of. This project is opening my eyes to the different experiences that people can have at college. Many students who live on campus do not have a job. From this data we also see that it seems like many of the students who dorm do not use their cars much. It's more of a way to get home instead of a way to get around.
